Beef and Asparagus Stir Fry

Ingredients

1 Sauce, hoisin Ready to serve, tablespoon
2 Canola oil, Tablespoon
10 Asparagus raw
3 Onion or scallions (chopped)
1/3 cornstarch
2 Ginger root raw, 1 tsp
2 Garlic raw, clove
4 Soy sacuse( hydrolyzed vegetable protein) ( 1 tablespoon)
1 Beef flank trimmed
1/2 cup Chicken Broth (lowfat)
1 Black bean sauce

Instructions:
Mince ginger and garlic. Slice flank steak into strips. Cut aspargus into 1″ pieces.

In a bowl, combine ginger, garlic, soy sacue and 3Tbsp. cornstarch until blended. Add beef strips and mix well. Set aside

Combine broth, hoisin sauce, tbsp black bean sauce and remaining cornstarch in another bowl.

Heat heavy skillet on medium. Add 1 Tbsp. oil and swirl to make sure the pan is coated. Add asparagus and stir fry until crisp, for about 4 to 5 mintues. Add scallions during last minute of cooking. Transfer to a bowl.

Add remaining oil to pan. Cook beef, until done about 5 to 7 minutes. Return asparagus and scallions to pan, add sauce and bring to boil. Stir while cooking unitl throughly heated. The sauce will thicken when it boils. Transfer to serving platter and serve immediately.
